Robin Stanton—Program Director |
|
Robin Stanton has been producing and directing award-winning major musicals and plays for Solano College Theatre Association since 2005. Working closely with an ensemble of top Bay Area artist/educators, audiences have enjoyed productions such as Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, High School Musical, Footloose, Grease and Seussical to name a few. Ms. Stanton is also an award winning and critically acclaimed regional theatre director. Her most recent credits include Betrayed, The Busy World Is Hushed and Permanent Collection at Aurora Theatre Company in Berkeley. Other San Francisco Bay Area hits include Ghost Festival at Yerba Buena Center for the Arts’ Forum, Tuesdays With Morrie at Center Rep in Walnut Creek, ‘ART’ at San Francisco Playhouse and LovePlay for TheatreFirst. Ms. Stanton has also directed for Steppenwolf Theatre Company, Dallas Theatre Center, Victory Gardens, Theatre Three, InterPlayers, Stage Left, Chicago Dramatists, Playground and San Francisco Playwrights Foundation. Her numerous awards include a Jeff Citation and After Dark Award for her direction of the world premiere of Rebecca Gilman’s The Glory of Living at Circle Theatre. She was named a National Endowment for the Arts Directors' Fellowship Finalist, and received Theatre Three's Award for Achievement and Dedication to the Arts. |

Holli Hornlien—Program Coordinator |

Holli Hornlien joined the staff of Solano College’s Youth Theatre Division in October of 2006. For Solano College’s mainstage and Youth Theatre division, she directed the award winning productions A Year with Frog and Toad, High School Musical and Footloose. She also provides Artistic Direction for the Summer STAR Shakespeare Program for which she directed Romeo and Juliet, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, The Taming of the Shrew, Macbeth and Twelfth Night. She has also directed The Jungle Book,The Mad Adventures of Mr. Toad, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, and The Importance of Being Earnest for Pistarkle Theatre, US Virgin Islands; Measure For Measure, The 7 Ages of Man, and Servants and Masters for San Francisco Shakespeare Festival; and The Pirates of Penzance for Peninsula Youth Theatre in Mountain View, California. Also a professional actress her regional theatre credits include Chicago Shakespeare Company, Goodman Theatre, Victory Gardens, Lyric Opera of Chicago, New Jersey Shakespeare Festival, Cherry Lane Theatre in NYC, Aurora Theatre Company in Berkeley and Center Rep Theatre in Walnut Creek, California. Film and television roles include the title role in The Pilot's Wife for the Oprah Winfrey Show on CBS; Primal Fear, Missing Persons, Unsolved Mysteries and several industrial films and commercials. Ms. Hornlien was educated at the Boston Conservatory of Music and holds a BFA in Acting from Emerson College. |

SYT operates year-round in Fairfield/Suisun, Vallejo/Benicia, and Vacaville. Through our unique relationship with Solano College, our young performers are taught by accredited theatre faculty and theatre professionals. All of our shows feature professional-level sets, lighting, and costumes, helping make every moment under the spotlight an unforgettable experience. |
